22 paralleled pairs of 2 generators each pair, supplied by PRAMAC equipped with a Comap control System, are remotely started, paralled and switched onto the Lighting System Power Grid, being a completely separate Utility Network, independent of any other Utility Source.
All generators' parameters are monitored through MODBUS to KNX gateways and all information if conveyed into the Race Control Room where the Lighting System Server is installed.
The 3,2 km Long YAS ISLAND F1 Race Track is equipped with some 5.000 lighting fixtures, Centrally Controlled configured in 5 zones of individual length of 2.5-3 km each.
We have employeed a KNX system through out the installation, with multiple repeaters and power supplies per segment. Each line is devided in 4 segments and each segment hosts all edquipment required to Control Each and Every Lighting fixture.
% diffenrent scenarios are installed to accomodate various applicartion requirements depending on the occasion so
1. A 25% Total Lighting intensity is used on night training sessions
2. A 50% Total Lighting intensity is used for Car Rallies
3. A 75% Total Lighting intensity is used for F1 racing without TV bradcasting.
4.A 100% Total Lighting intensity is used for F1 racing with HD TV braadcasting.
5. OFF scenario whreas lighting zones are timely switching off until all track goes dark and then the Generaor Pairs cooldown and shutdown, ready for the next session.
HD Graphics are used in our visualisation server providing topographical maps of all zones, fixture and generator positions, appropriately animated.
Separate screens are dedicated to generator parameter monitring and alarms are raced should any parameter fall out of range
